Accidents happen, but most can be prevented. These tips are all
based on actual events - read the BMFA handbook thoroughly!
 | Never fly over people or property. Don't fly near buildings, vehicles, boats or
aircraft. A full size aircraft hit could endanger life and you will be personally liable
for your actions.
|
 | If you cannot see what you are overflying, don't fly. Someone could be there and
you can be certain that if you have a problem with your model then it will go in their
direction.
|
 | Be very careful with engines and fuel. Make sure that everyone nearby is fully
aware of what you are doing. If there is any possibility of fire make sure that a suitable
fire extinguisher is available and that someone knows how to use it.
|
 | If flying at a display or an event, particularly if flying a model which is
rarely used, take extra care to check the model very carefully.
|
 | Keep records of any incidents where persons or property were at risk to ensure
that every effort is made to prevent repeats. |
