The Skygate Hawk (Mr Maylander, Swiss Jet Team) beside
the L39MS from Kestrels MFC, ready to enter their
start boxes at JWM2007.

The L39 weighs in at under 5kg with a full tank of fuel,
the Hawk would be near 20kg without fuel.

Aircraft in transit to the scale judging hangar.

A superb paint job. Look at the undercarriage.

Inside one of the tents - in a quiet moment.

Two turbines and vector thrust control.

The (crazy) Dutch indoor flying team.

You could learn a trick or two from a closer look
at this model.....

A large crowd at the opening ceremony.

Sir Bob looks as if he's enjoying the competition.

This was Dave carrying out a few adjustments to his ECU.

The 3rd round of competition flying and the top
pilots are flying last.

Sunday 8th June: competition flying at last.
Here is the little L39 touching down after it's first flight.

Saturday 7th July: Scale judging finished off
The opening ceremony was held at 1300h in beautiful weather.

Test flying, also pilots and judges demonstration flights.
Competition flying started for competitors 1 - 20.

A huge crowd turned out today.

hunter1.jpg (32319 bytes)

This Swiss team Hunter is another superb model - it's
on the trailer to go for scale judging.

Thursday 5th July: scale judging gets started, the first 30
models are through. Here is one of the competitors returning
from the scale judging hanger.

The test flights have started, the BAE Hawk from Saudi
Arabia was superb in the air.

Wed 4th July: everything getting back on track now.
Still seems like a dream as you walk past all these
spectacular models - here are 2 beauties all the way
from China (no 2 is the practice machine).

Wireless internet access now on site at the Control Tower.

Tuesday 3rd July: an unfortunate accident yesterday
evening where a sudden storm lifted the 2nd marquee
which was being assembled and tumbled it over the
fence. Unfortunately there were 4 people inside and
thankfully no-one was seriously injured.

Thanks to everyone who turned up when the call went
out and helped to clear up - we now have another
marquee all ready for the arriving models.

Team registration is now moved to 1200h
on Wednesday 4th July.

Saturday evening - the first marquee has arrived;
three more on the way.

Northern Ireland is hosting the 'Jet World Masters 2007' competition from Wednesday 4th July 2007 - Saturday 14th July 2007 at Enniskillen (Saint Angelo) Airport.

Stephen Browne with his Sea Vixen.

Han Kleijn's F-100 Super Sabre

The Swiss Jet Team for 2007.

John Agnew's MB339.

Dustin Buescher with his F-86.

Dave Ribbe with his MIG-15.

Northern Ireland has its own team consisting of 6 Pilots, 14 Crew and a Team Manager who hope to demonstrate the high standards of aeromodelling here. The team has attracted its own sponsorship for this event which will be a showcase for NI to the rest of the World.

The NI Jet Team 2007 was sponsored
by Lafarge Cement Ireland

See some pictures and the results from the JWM 2005 event in Hungary and the JWM 2003 event in South Africa.
The JWM 2001 event results can be seen here (.pdf file). JWM 1999 was held in Austria, see the results here.

Almost every NI Club contributed to our JWM2007 fund raising draw and we received this from the JWM organisers:

"On behalf of the whole organising committee of the 7th World Jet Masters, express our sincere thanks for the generous donation from
the Kestrels Model Flying Club as a result of your raffle.

As I’m sure you can imagine organising an event of this magnitude is not easy and there are many trials and tribulations along the way.
Sometimes we wonder if it is all worth it! However when a gesture such as this is received we realise that there are many aeromodellers
out there who are looking forward to the event and are wishing us well with the preparations. This gives us great encouragement.

Thank you once again for your support it is very much appreciated."

There are two types of JWM entry:

Individual Scale - for pilots who build and fly their own model, and

Open Scale - for pilots alone, or a team of 2 (pilot and builder), where the pilot does not have
to be the constructor of all or any part of the model.
