Saturday 15th July 2006
Good weather gathered up a considerable crowd at Kesh for an unplanned fly-in!
Richard set up a Gazebo for some welcome shade and flying continued late into the
evening. |
 |
A good assortment of ic and electric helicopters (plus the
turbine powered Predator), large and small aeroplanes
and a few flying wings all arrived.
Thanks to Adrian for the photographs. |
Predator touching down. |
 |
 |
Richard and Seamus trying combat with their wings.
These things are fast! |
They came closer than this, but at the speed they're
moving at it's lucky to get both in the frame together.
Thanks to Ken for the picture. |
 |
 |
Ian's wing zooms around, you really need to hear it,
the prop noise is unbelieveable. |
Fantastic weather for flying. |
 |
 | Sunday 16th July 2006 |
Helicopter fun-fly day at Newbuildings. Usually cold and windy, the weather was
beautiful for the event this year.
Thanks again to NWMAC for their hospitality.
|
 |
A fine array of scale models, probably the best ever turnout
for a helicopter event here. Lots of well finished models
and all sorts of flying - scale, 3D and learners. |
They didn't just sit on the grass either! Here is Tommy's
Airwolf on the prowl... |
 |
 |
Another nice scale machine in the air. |
Kevin was burning a lot of fuel, even had a go
with the turbine heli. |
 |
 | Saturday 22nd July 2006 |
Jet flying at Langford Lodge. Good weather again for burning some Jet fuel. |
 |
Not an easy model to catch on camera at full speed
particularly when it pulls up vertical |
A lucky shot here on a fast fly past |
 |
 |
Touching down gently after another successful flight |
 | Saturday 29th July 2006 |
John has invited us all to the fantastic Upperlands flying site and it looks
like it will be a great fly-in! Flying from early til late,
possibly some jet flying, lots of helicopters, lots of aeroplanes - not to be
missed. Follow signposts from the main road if you
haven't been there before.
 | Saturday 5th August 2006 |

Saturday 5th August.
Everyone enjoyed this part of the event which helped in making
our day a great success'
 |
Some spectators were securing front row seats
while we were getting ready. |
The jet powered helicopter was very popular
with the spectators. |
 |
 |
Davy had the flight line well organised, it was
three deep at times! |
Most of the aircraft had at least one flight during the
afternoon.
Thanks to Ken for the pictures. |
 |
 | Sat 12th August 2006 |
Ballymoney MFC are going to fly a model aircraft from Ballycastle to Rathlin

The flight used a T240 powered by a 22cc petrol engine.
Andrew Wallace took off from Ballycastle, handing over to Robert
who flew the model from the boat, handing over to Stanley
McKeown to land on Rathlin. Well done !Click here to see more pictures,

Fly-in at Nutts Corner. Always a warm welcome from the UMAC modellers, thanks to
Malachy for sending photographs.
 |
An excellent Stearman preparing for its 4th flight. |
Looking well against the blue sky. The big 4-stroke
engine sounds good. |
 |
 |
Cruising in for a perfect landing. |
Bob's 'Hype' had a lot of flying, powered by a 50
with a Weston pipe. |
 |
 |
Annesley is seriously thinking about a Wren Turbine
for his next project.... |
Some thought must have gone into fitting this lot in the car.
T240 powered by a SC 60cc radial engine. |
 |
 |
A closer view of that 5 cylinder radial engine.
Exhaust ring by 'Just Engines' cleaned it up and
improved the performance. |

 | Saturday 16th September 2006 |
Dungannon MFC fly-in at Moygashel - fantastic weather, lots of jet flying - without
doubt the best attended NI
model flying event of this year. Probably over 300 spectators and a packed car park
said it all !
|
 |
Ian gets Davy's F22 Raptor ready for takeoff.
Blue sky and a gentle breeze along the Dungannon MFC strip. |
Plenty of power, tremendous sound and the F22
takes to the sky - only half way down the strip. |
 |
 |
Marvellous Jet flying to entertain the spectators. |
Nose high approach for a perfect touchdown. |
 |
 |
Ian's Hawk races down the runway, the nose lifts
just before takeoff. |
Thundering past in a cloudless sky. |
 |
 |
Matthew entertained us with brilliant flying. |
And a very effective smoke system. |
 |
 |
Trevor's telling Howard that he can't fly this at
our indoor meetings.... |
The car park had some interesting parking arrangements. |
 |
 |
Tommy had a corner all to himself for his helicopter display. |
Regi has his Sea Wind model all ready for the Eskragh
splash-in on Saturday 7th October.
Don't miss it! |
