NI Area Scale day at New Buildings.
John got this picture of the L39 with flaps down and
landing lights on, coming in to land after a quick burn
around the sunny sky.
Thanks to the pit crew, Seamus and Stanley. |

Scully in the Hughes 500 enjoying the sunshine
on Sunday afternoon. |
The 3dx champion gave us an exciting demo
with his Raptor 50 on Sunday. |
 |
 |
The Funjet at its best - low and fast!
It has proved almost impossible to capture a few of
the FunJets on their regular Sunday evening formation flight.
The inevitable mid-air hasn't happened yet.... |
New Raptor 90 SE with a flashy canopy and filled with
metal and carbon upgrades. YS90 power. |

The plans for the model which Seamus has on the building
table - it's certainly going to be big! |
Another YAK on the runway, 1.2m wing span, 3 cell LiPo
and 12x6 APC electric, prop hangs just over half
throttle and flies for 9 minutes. |
 |
 |
Latest arrival - Hangar 9 YAK 54, 89" span.

One of the nicest scale jets, the Panther.
Seamus brought this along on Sunday. |
 |
 |
Shane's Dad and Seamus took some of our spectators
for a flight. |
Cruising up the strip you would be forgiven for
thinking this was fullsize rather than a T-Rex
sized electric powered model. |
 |
 |
John's twin EDF F15, we can't wait to see this
in the air. |
The cool winter air didn't stop flying over
the Christmas Holiday time. |
 |
 |
Leo has his 'Bossanova' ready to fly, and it flew
very well on Sunday.
Similar in size to a 'Hype' but it has its own
character - amply powered by the new OS55. |
Seamus sent a few pictures of his Bobcat conversion,
now test flown and a complete success. |
 |
 |
Tidy installation, model weighs 9lbs and runs for
about 7 mins on a tank of fuel. |
Our latest Jet Pilot learning the ropes |
 |
 |
And our JWM pilot trying mode 2 control |
Tiny Biplane of balsa and ply construction,
around 20" span
and weighing under 300gm. E-flight outrunner with a 9x4.7 prop
and a 2 cell 1300mAh LiPo battery.
Easy take-off from grass, lively performance in a gentle breeze. |

 |
Hirobo Lepton on a low pass. |
| Raptor 30 with a difference: the photograph doesn't do
justice to the paint job.
Blades, paddles, tailboom and skids all matching the
first class finish on the canopy. |

 |
Kestrels MFC site is probably the only grass flying strip in
Northern Ireland where you will regularly see (and hear)
model Jet flying; this Boomerang, powered by a Jetcat P80,
never fails to get an audience from near and far.
Thanks to Davy for the photograph. |
A new secret design lightweight indoor aircraft
delivery for the man with the flying wings.
Special Delivery wasn't up to the job
since they damaged the last one.... |
 |

|
One of the Jetcat P80s on the test bench. |
Nice scale detail in this cockpit. |
 |

|
More Turbine tests - a Wren this time - throttle trim
forward, stick up, stick down and off it goes.....
Idles at 45,000 RPM, full throttle runs up to
130,000 RPM.
The 1.2l tank empties in less than 10 minutes. |
Congratulations to Harry as he receives
his BMFA helicopter 'A' certificate.
Obviously encouraged by this he has been
burning a lot of fuel and has now passed
his 'B' as well - congratulations!
Autorotations no problem to him now... |
