Kestrels MFC is all about FLYING ! In addition to flying at Kesh every week, we regularly
support other club fly-ins and fly at indoor venues throughout the year.

Here is a selection of what's happening:

bulletSaturday/Sunday 26th and 27th March 2011

Andreas has invited us down to his private runway with jets and whatever else we want to fly.

bulletSaturday/Sunday 11th and 12th December 2010

bulletSaturday/Sunday 9th and 10th October 2010

Andreas invited us back for another jet weekend.

Windy on Saturday but much better weather on Sunday.

The barbeque was lit but some were in a hurry to get
the sausages cooked!

Running low on fuel and
all chargers in use for non-stop flying.

bulletSaturday 4th September 2010

NI Area Aerobatics 2010 Round 2 at Newbuildings.

An excellent turnout despite heavy rain in the morning.

The rain stopped, the sun came out and everyone
flew their 3 rounds of  Basic, Sportsman and
Intermediate IMAC schedules.

Congratulations to Seamus on winning 1st place
flying a jet for the 1st time in an NI Area
Aerobatics Competition.

Thanks to Matthew, David and the guys at NWMAC
for a well run event and a great day out.

bulletSunday 15th August 2010

14th/15th August Letterkenny Jet Fly-in
was moved further south and had a big gathering
of jet flyers with fantastic weather.

Harry and Robert used all their fuel, Seamus
can't have had much left either with 50 flights
between the three of them.

Andreas had the runway in superb condition.

Some superb big models with a long runway
and lots of space.

A lucky shot of a fast low pass.

Should have got a picture of 3 or 4 in the air together.

This is a big model with over 5 litres of fuel,
so there's plenty of time for fast passes.

John standing with Andreas in the sunshine.

Coming in to land, slowing down well.

bulletSaturday 31st July 2010

Erne Vintage Club Charity Event at Castle Archdale.

Ken is somewhere in the tent with a mug of tea.

Helicopters always get the spectators asking questions.

How much is it? How high can it go? How fast?
How does it stay upside down?

A huge display of vintage cars, engines and tractors.

Kestrels members jumped on a flight to Belgium
for 'Jets over Pampa 2010'

Here are some pictures from the event.

IMAC 2010, 28th-30th May

A special OAP spectator seating area this year

Matthew thinks of everything!

It's amazing what secret skills some of the IMAC pilots have.

Apart from playing the drums this man does the talking
when things need sorting out.....

(You had to be there on Saturday night!)

bulletSaturday 15th May 2010

NWMAC Scale day on Saturday brought out the
real flying scale models. Here is the Stearman flying
past at low level making light of the crosswind.

Prizes were awarded to those models judged
by all of the pilots to have looked and flown well.

bulletSunday 25th April 2010

This Kestrels group travelled to the NIAA

The first of Kestrels BMFA achievement days at Blackhill
brought more fine sunny weather and flying.

The Letterkenny Prangster display team were entertaining
everyone with their close flying low level routine.

Lots of tests with visitors from Ballymoney, North Down
and Donegal; Nigel has the huge runway in perfect condition.

for the day with excellent flying conditions.

There was great enthusiasm to fly Matthew's schedules
and 9 pilots demonstrated the Basic schedule.

The Competition Prizes went to:

Best Flight: Robert
Best Scale Model: Gordon
Most flights: Harry and Seamus
Distance travelled: Andreas

bulletSunday 24th January 2010

A sunny Sunday at Letterkenny with lots of jet flying.

This is the Extreme Flight Extra 300 which, alongside
the H9 Carden Yak and the other EF Extra, was running
through the 2010 IMAC Sportsman schedule.

More jet flying at Letterkenny, Seamus is burning
lots of kerosene and really enjoying his Boomerang.

Three Boomerangs, the Harpoon and the L39 all flew
in the windy conditions.

We were well fed at Seven Towers on Saturday
with another Jet outing. Their grass strip must be
one of the best in the country.
