The net was pulled across the centre of the hall
to provide two practice areas.

Ollie's getting some practice here, great colour scheme.

Models and pilots gather in the hall around 10am
for a few trimming flights.

The spectator area is sloped behind the models,
some spectators are already seated.

The orange tape on the floor is the flightline.

Models of all shapes and sizes on the benches.
The scoreboard display on the wall at the far end
shows the flying order, scores and positions
for each round. Just like last year, this all
worked very well throughout the competition.

Andy uses this mamo unit on an EPP model
to give variable prop pitch control.

This lets him reverse the aircraft backwards
from the wall or even the floor.

The servo at the top changes the pitch of the blades.

This Wizard 4D model also used a mamo
variable pitch prop.

Underneath the UMX Extra 300.

Thanks to Horizon Hobbies we all got to fly
this and their other models on Saturday evening.

These come in the box ready to bind to your
Spektrum transmitter and go fly.

Derk, Matthew and Claes flew demo flights
with the UMX Extra 300s

Derk concentrates on his F3P-A torque roll.

His F3P flights are extremely crisp and clean
and his aeromusical flights are superb entertainment.

Derk's aeromusical and F3P models beside the
UMX Extra 300.

Derk first signed my aeroplane's wing in Enniskillen
in 2007, every time we meet since then he adds
his magical touch to my model and it always flys
better afterwards!

Some flew over the beams, others flew through them.

Connor hit one and recovered, Robert hit
one and didn't.

Barnesyboy landed on one!

Occasionally a rescue was needed.

Here's Bango doing a spot of fishing.

Aeromusical with a few surprises!

Kermit sings, then steals the plane
and Santa saves the day....

The Pylon racers were gathered for a photo opportunity
before the start of the pylon races.
There were around 22 in total.

These were sorted into 3 groups, with each group
flying three rounds. Each pilot had a lap counter
who raised his arm when 10 laps had been completed.

The best 6 then flew as many laps as they could
in three minutes.

Soft pylons (which looked like flypaper when the racers
got stuck) meant that the models suffered less damage
than last year. Great fun!

Derk won, Simon was second and Matthew in third place.

The F3P-B pilots, Andy is getting his elevator adjusted.

Matthew kindly took this picture of us
with the Dutch team.
